Minor Injury Treatment
Halekulani Medical Centre is equipped to treat non-life-threatening minor injuries. Minor injuries are usually wounds that break through the skin or other body tissues. Examples of these include cuts, scrapes, scratches, and broken skin.
While these injuries are not very serious, to begin with, they may turn into a potential threat after a long time for not being treated right. Sometimes injuries that feel like muscle pulls and strains turn out to be fractures and tendon tears. Therefore, it is always a good idea to visit us to have your injuries assessed.
Acute Asthma
Asthma is a medical condition that affects your respiratory system. Individuals with Asthma have narrow and swollen airways with increased mucus production. Common symptoms of this condition include difficult breathing, coughing, and wheezing, and shortness of breath. While asthma is a minor problem for some, it can be a grave complication for others.
However, if things flare up and you experience any of the following symptoms, seek medical assistance promptly.
- Experiencing extreme and severe breathlessness, especially early in the morning or at bedtime at night.
- Wheezing excessively.
- Being unable to speak long phrases because of shortness of breath.
- Requiring straining your chest muscles for ease in breathing.
- Feeling little to no improvements after using an inhaler.
Bites
Some of the common types of bites we treat are animal bites, insect bites, and human bites. It is incredibly important to treat bites as they may manifest into serious infections. Bites from insects and animals may inject venom and trigger an allergic reaction.
The severity of these bites depends on several factors. Our staff examines the bite inflicted and treats it accordingly and will also be able to prescribe medication to alleviate pain stemming from these bites.
Minor Burns
Although Minor burns, also known as first degree burns, are not as grave as higher-degree burns, but they can cause extreme pain and inconveniences.
